About Atlas Outfitters

Atlas Outfitters was founded by Atlee Mahorn, MBA, OLY, a three-time Canadian Olympian and former international sprinter whose experience shapes our practical approach to outdoor gear curation.

Atlee represented Canada in athletics at the 1984 Los Angeles, 1988 Seoul, and 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. He won the 1986 Commonwealth Games 200 m title, earned World Championship bronze medals in the 200 m and 4 × 100 m relay, and recorded a 20.17-second 200 m personal best.

Atlee's love of San Francisco Bay Area trails began during his years as a UC Berkeley student, starting with Tilden Regional Park in the Grizzly Peak hills above Berkeley. Tilden gave him a place to experience running and walking beyond the track—through changing terrain, open ridgelines, and wooded paths—and helped turn outdoor movement into a lifelong connection with nature.

Today, Atlee still enjoys running and walking trails without turning every outing into a competition.
